Irving and Richard took on Ray's pr. Unfortunately, it wasn't our night and we were 12- 0 down
after 8 ends, leaving the shots even as the other game had finished. With the hall down to whispers,
we took 3 on the last 2 ends to give us the shots we needed. A 12 3 3 mat loss.
A close game was played out at home against Withersfield. At one stage halfway through the pairs,
it was looking like a possible 8 - 2 win. Withersfield pushed hard and managed to get a win on the
last end of one of the pairs. A 6 - 4 loss, with the shots being very close at 42 - 39. We know we
have enough to beat them next time they visit. A very entertaining evening.
Mat 1 Fours
Pete W, Jackie, Irving and Pete J, started a very close game, 3 all after 6 ends, but took 5 on the
seventh. A well-deserved 9 3 7 mat win.
Mat 2 fours
Sue, Karen, Bob and Andrew, played another close game and were holding a slender 9 - 8 lead
after 6 ends. James's four pushed hard and came away with the spoils, a 14 - 9 mat loss.

Jean and Richard were up against probably the toughest opposition of the night in Sue and Lisa.
Some accurate bowling from our pair saw us take a 7 - 1 lead after 4 ends. A few dropped shots
and it was 9 all going into the last end, Sue and Lisa played some great shots and got 4 on the last
end. A 13 - 9 mat loss

Keith and Andy also started well and were holding a 6 - 1 lead after 4 ends. Some good play by
Rob's pair saw it at 8 all with 2 to go. We got 2 on the 9th and were holding 1 on the last end with
the last ball of the night to go. After much deliberation Rob eventually took his shot and knocked
the Jack off, giving us a fine 12 - 8 win.
At the time of writing Brockley sit 4th in the league on 40 points with Stanningfield 41, Cockfield
46 and Withersfield 61. Cockfield have completed all their games with the others to play two
more.
