Resident9s concerns
Mill Road/Rede Road 3 grass verges
After several requests to Suffolk Highways to repair the grass verges following the work by
CityFibre, Suffolk Highways have listed the verges to be reinstated 3 when we do not know!
Speeding traffic B1066
As I have reported previously, motorists seem as they will only reduce their speed if they are
reminded by the Speed Indicator Device (SID). After an energetic discussion by councillors to
understand if there are any other interventions we could use, it was decided we would:
Apply to Suffolk County Council to have an ANPR camera visit the village
Determine the cost of a smaller, solar powered, SID to be positioned at the northern
end of the B1066
Look into having a 8No Footway9 sign erected
Re-location of Bury to Clare Bus Stop – B1066
To date, we have had no update on our application to relocate the bus stop. Cllr. Wingfield is on the
case and we have also referred the matter to our MP, Nick Timothy, to see if he can help.
At our meeting on the 23rd July, we raised the risk level of the bus stop to high. The current position
of the bus stop is a very real health and safety risk particularly when the SID is recording vehicles
travelling through the village at 70mph at 16.30pm!
Village Sign
The sign is showing signs of wear and tear and we have had an offer from Simon Ladd and Tim
Crawford to replace some of the rotten wood and repaint the sign. At some stage the sign will
disappear for renovation so pleased don9t be alarmed….
Parish Council Website
I am pleased to report that having gathered the information required for the website, we are now at
the next stage with the web designer/developer. My thanks to all those who supplied the information
requested, the first draft (not sure that9s the technical name) will be sent to you all to ensure you are
satisfied with the content.
A request – if you have photographs of the village, including photo’s of the many activities that
take place please could you send them to me as I would like to showcase the village at its best!
