Changes to Planning Law
It was reported that changes to planning law will now mean that the parish council will no longer be
consulted on planning applications. In future, applications from householders and developers will be
considered by the relevant planning officer. The UK planning system in England is undergoing its
most significant overhaul in years, driven by the Planning and Infrastructure Act and updates to the
National Planning Policy Framework (NPPF) aimed at boosting housing supply and accelerating
infrastructure.
Local Government Restructuring
There is still no clarity on whether the restructure of the County into three unitaries will go ahead.
Some say it has been paused while others argue it has been stopped!
