CLUB ACTIVITIES – ANDREW ENGLISH, AMANDA KEIGHLY, DAVID ANDREW,
BOB FENNER, DENISE DINSEY
Our residents must be one of the fittest communities around and it is great to know that so many
of the clubs, from table tennis, carpet bowls, tai-chi and cricket to the more sedate book club and
crafty craft club are all doing well. Our thanks go to all those who organise the clubs and keep
them going.
Parish Council AGM
This meeting followed on from the annual meeting with the election of the chairman and
vice-chairman.
I trust you will be pleased to learn that, unlike the crazy world of politics we are living through,
there was no leadership challenge - stability at the local level remains the watch word! I was
elected as Chair for a further year 2026/7 and Cllr. Baber will continue to be the vice-chair.
There should be parish council elections in 2027 and it is likely we will have some vacancies so
if you would like to become part of an energetic team please have a chat with us over the next
few months.
Looking ahead the parish council will develop a new website where we can promote the village,
its activities and special events; continue to pursue the re-location of the Bury to Clare bus stop
and consider how best to manage the village pond.
On a personal note, I am privileged to be part of such an active, caring and friendly community.
My thanks to you all for your continued confidence in me.

!!Village Hall Diary!! - PLEASE NOTE from July Newsletter
It has been decided that from July we will only place the regular group activity time and
dates in the diary. If there is a change to any time or date then it is the responsibility of
the group organiser to inform their membership. We will no longer show private
hirers dates/times.
