A message from Rev Anita Rooney
In a world that feels noisy, rushed and full of demands the parish church offers
something quietly precious - a place to pause. A place to breathe. A place where you
can simply be yourself without expectation or hurry.
You don9t need to know the hymns. You don9t have to have everything sorted.
You don9t need to come every week. Just come as you are.
Our services are friendly, unhurried and rooted in the steady rhythm that has held this
village for generations. Some people come for the peace, some for the prayers, some
for the sense of belonging and some simply because it feels good to sit in a beautiful
historic space where the world slows down for a moment.
If you have been thinking about coming along 3 or if you are curious, or in need of a
little stillness 3 consider this your invitation. You will be welcomed with warmth,
kindness and the reassuring knowledge that there is always room for you.
Walking to Evening Prayer
Robin Drayton will again be walking to Evening Prayer on Sunday 21st June on the
footpath from the village to the church. In May three people joined him. If you would
like to walk with him meet him at the top of the footpath opposite the Village Green
6.15pm. The service starts at 6.30pm.
Events in June and September
A couple of dates for your diary. On Saturday 27th June we shall be holding a Bell
Ringing Coffee Morning in the church when you will be given the opportunity to
have a go at ringing the bells. This is a free event. On the 12th September there will be
a 8Swinging Tea Party9, with music from Route 66. Further details on both events can
be found in adverts elsewhere in the Newsletter.
